Moving light servicing

A fixture that will not home, a colour wheel that grinds, a channel that stopped listening. We service and repair moving heads and static fixtures, and we run the preventative maintenance that stops most of it happening.

Bench 02 · Moving head service

What we fix

  • Pan and tilt motors, belts and position sensors
  • Driver boards, LED engines and lamp replacement
  • Gobo, colour and zoom mechanisms
  • DMX and RDM faults, addressing and firmware updates
  • Cleaning of optics, fans and filters
  • Scheduled preventative maintenance by the rack or by the warehouse

Common symptoms

  • Fixture fails to home or loses position mid show
  • Grinding, clicking or fan noise
  • Dim, discoloured or flickering output
  • Channels not responding or responding wrongly
  • Errors on the display after transport

Fixtures we have on the bench most

Moving heads share more than the badges suggest. Pan and tilt assemblies, colour and gobo wheels, drive boards and the DMX side behave the same way across nearly every make, which is why one bench can carry all of them.

Manufacturer warranties rarely cover getting a fixture down from the rig or shipping it away. Regular servicing costs less than the failure it prevents, and it is why our care plan clients schedule maintenance quarterly.

Questions we hear a lot

Can you service our whole stock rather than one broken unit?

Yes. Warehouse maintenance days cover cleaning, testing and firmware across your fleet, and they are the core of most care plans.

Do you work on both lamp and LED fixtures?

Both. Arc source and LED engines have different maintenance needs, and we service each to its own schedule.

What information do you need for a quote?

Manufacturer, model, quantity and a description or short video of the fault. A video of a moving head misbehaving tells us more than any written description.

Who we do this for

Rental houses

Stock that is broken is stock that is not earning. We run repair loops for rental houses so damaged tiles and fixtures come back into the hire fleet instead of stacking up in a corner of the warehouse.

Venues

A house system has to work every night, and it cannot come off the wall for a fortnight. We service installed equipment in place and plan around what is in the diary.

Clubs

Club equipment runs longer hours in worse conditions than almost anything else in this industry. Haze, heat and vibration take fixtures apart slowly, and then all at once.
